BRIDGES FOR LIFE PROGRAM:

The Bridges Program is a unique service designed to focus on a more holistic approach to medication adherence. This program also broadens the definition, to include, developing attitudes and behaviors that promote repression of the virus and healing of the immune system. The focus is on supporting individuals in keeping their medical appointments, adherence to opportunistic infection prophylaxis, exercise and good nutritional intake. In collaboration with Lemuel Shattuck Hospital, the program is also designed to "bridge" the gap between the institutional setting and the community, giving individuals in the institution the opportunity to participate actively in their own treatment in the community. Bridges provides a series of groups which offer support, company, and a structure for members to address any concerns about living with HIV, about issues of relationships, health, mental, emotional health, and wellness.
